iASTROM is an application to evaluate the resilience of a Control and Data Management (C&DM) system of electrical transmission network. It is based on the ASTROM methodology developed inside a project funded by EU.
The C&DM system architecture that was considered in the methodology is compliant to the standard guidelines for SCADA Hardware & Software architecture (i.e. IEEE Std PC37.1/D3 - Standard for SCADA and Automation Systems - 2007). Therefore, ASTROM methodology can be considered applicable to the majority of the systems.
Potential users of iASTROM application are Power C&DM systems providers and operator, researchers and system planners (in particular, software and telecommunication equipment providers). The major interest would be the possibility given by the application of the ASTROM methodology that it provides a mean to assess how resilient the system (and the relative subsystems and components) is. Furthermore other potential users are the operators of various infrastructure as, for instance, the electric transmission network or the distribution networks, or the generation companies which are in charge to produce electric energy, and companies for gas and oil distribution, communication and information networks, local district water suppliers, etc.
